PUBLIC SAFETY NOT A PRIORITY

To the Editor:

I will bet that there are a lot of people who are now sorry they
elected Dan "The Marijuana Man" Hamburg as their 5th District
Supervisor. His priority is and always has been marijuana.

It does not surprise me that the Sheriff's Department is not his top
priority. With the Sheriff Department not fully staffed, it would make
me think Dan doesn't have to worry about his friends and relatives
being investigated for illegal marijuana grows. His arrogance showed
when he started yelling at Sheriff Tom Allman at a recent budget meeting.

Dan Hamburg is clueless when comes to the safety of the people of
Mendocino County and the safety of the Sheriff's Deputies who patrol
our county. When law enforcement is out patrolling and gets into a
situation where they need back-up it is nice to know there are enough
law enforcement officers out there to aid them as soon as possible.
Most people who live in this county are in rural areas. When they call
911 for any reason, they want to be confident that law enforcement
will be there at a reasonable time. Dan Hamburg could care less.

Marijuana is a mind altering drug that causes peoples minds to relax
and escape the rigors of life itself. The people who smoke this
illicit drug tend to make poor decisions when under the influence, be
it driving or supervising a county. It is my opinion that the
Mendocino County Supervisors be drug tested before they start making
decisions that will affect the people of this county. If they test
positive for drugs then we can have the Sheriff's Department arrest
them for a Health and Safety violation. I wonder what Dan "The
Marijuana Man" Hamburg thinks about that?
