HOLLYWOOD MAN CONVICTED ON TRAFFICKING CHARGES

A Miami-Dade County jury on Friday convicted a 31-year-old Hollywood
man on charges he trafficked 654 pounds of marijuana more than three
years ago.

Howard Reynolds was involved in a large-scale operation to transport
marijuana from Los Angeles to Miami in 2003, said JoAnn Carrin,
spokeswoman for the Florida Attorney General's Office. He was caught
at a warehouse near Miami International Airport in February of that
year picking up the 654-pound cache of marijuana valued at about
$500,000. She said documents indicate Reynolds may have trafficked
more than 10 tons of drugs between October 2000 and February 2003.

A jury found him guilty of trafficking in cannabis and conspiracy to
traffic cannabis, charges that could put him in prison for up to 60
years, Carrin said. He will be sentenced May 31.

She said his co-conspirator, Christopher Solomon, posted bail after
the arrest and fled the country.
