AUBURN CITY COMMISSION TO RECEIVE UPDATE ON MEDICAL MARIJUANA OPTIONS TONIGHT

AUBURN - The Auburn City Commission tonight will receive an update on
its options involving medical marijuana and dispensaries.

Last month, the Commission - without Mayor Eric Larsen and City
Commissioner B.J. Raab - unanimously voted for a six-month moratorium
in an attempt to outlaw medical marijuana facilities within city limits.

At 7 p.m. tonight at City Hall, 113 E. Elm, Auburn Planning Commission
Secretary Gary Black is expected to further inform the Commission
involving its future options on medical marijuana facilities.

Last month, Black attended a seminar in Wyoming, Mich., sponsored by
the Michigan Municipal League called "The Medical Marihuana Act and
Your Community."

Auburn's moratorium involves not allowing any facilities or
organizations to operate within city limits that do not adhere by
city, state or federal laws.

Medical marijuana remains illegal under federal law.

A public hearing involving a yard sale ordinance will also take place
at tonight's Commission meeting.
