WHO MAKES MONEY FROM POT PROHIBITION?
I absolutely loved Russell Barth's letter (Busting grow-ops just
encourages criminals, Nov. 26) offering a virtual thank you note to
prohibitionist law enforcement agencies for exterminating cannabis. In
fact I'd like to see a study showing which profession actually makes
more profits from cannabis prohibition; pot growers or law enforcement
agencies, their unions and the prison industry which prays for
mandatory minimums. I think citizens across North America would be
surprised. Since about half the population wants to legalize the
plant, you know.
