PROF BECOMES LEAP SPEAKER
Nanaimo is getting a branch of a police-based organization that wants
to end the war on drugs.
Vancouver Island University criminology instructor John Anderson, a
former correctional officer, has agreed to be the Law Enforcement
Against Prohibition spokesman for Nanaimo. Anyone can join LEAP but
only former law enforcement members can be official speakers.
Anderson, a three-year LEAP member said he offered to become a
speaker because of overwhelming evidence the get-tough approach "is
breeding consequences that were never intended by Parliament."
