CURRENT SYSTEM SIMPLY IS WORKING

Re: Unused deterrent, Times, Oct. 26.
This article just confirms that the criminal element has absolutely no
fear of being punished.
Gutless politicians and judges are not coming down hard on these
people. The police make a great bust and an hour later they are out.
If our government can't come up with laws and proper deterrents to
deal with this, maybe it's time to get people in office that will
actually step up and make a difference.
Everybody wants to blame society instead of looking at the real
reasons. The plain, simple truth is it's easy money, while "Joe and
Mary Public" pay taxes through the nose, the grow operators pay
nothing for the most part. Human nature will take the easy way for the
most part if it is there to take.
If our laws won't deal with this, then legalize pot and tax it and use
the money to fight the hard drugs and gang issues. I know this may not
be the best solution either but the system we have in place now is
horribly flawed and corrupt, and isn't working.
