SEEMS LIKE TORIES WANT END TO MEDICINAL POT USERS
To the editor, re: "Medicinal marijuana policy needs review" by
Priscilla Lavell of Toledo.
What Priscilla Lavell of Toledo fails to realize is that the Tories
want the medical marijuana program to fail.
If they were to fund it properly, over one million Canadians would
have licenses by now. That would mean over one million people getting
healthier and surviving, walking around not using pharmaceuticals, and
proving the anti-pot propaganda wrong.
For example, my wife has fewer epileptic seizures, and I got out of a
wheelchair and beat multiple addictions with the help of marijuana.
The government doesn't want people to know about that because then
they can't justify the continuing prohibition and the costs and
supressions of freedoms that go with it.
The government actively hates medical marijuana users because we
represent the human rights foot-in-the-door towards full-on
legalization. And what would that mean? It would mean we would not
need so many cops, courts, and cages to deal with pot users.
It would mean less hard drug use, lower alcoholism, and less crime. It
would mean restoring Canadians' sense of personal freedom and
autonomous control over their own bodies, and that is what the
government hates most of all.
When Stephen Harper gets his majority -something that now seems
inevitable -the medical marijuana program will be entirely shut down,
and every single permit holder will be arrested within a week. If you
think this is an exaggeration, just ask any Tory MP or candidate what
Harper's plan for pot users is, and you get the one-word answer: "Jail!"
To Harper and his minions, there is no such thing as "medical"
marijuana. We are not "medical pot users"... We are addicts. We are
criminals. We are the enemy of the state.
