BECOMING OBVIOUS THERE'S NO WINNING OUR DRUG WAR

Editor, the Times:

So, we spent all this overtime with the Bacon brothers to arrest them
and now we're being told it's created a power vacuum in the drug
business in which the drug business is going to get worse.

Clearly, this is not a winnable war; arrest more, and you get more
gangs.

Is this insanity? If everyone could grow our own marijuana legally, we
would have no gangs, no need for ever-increasing taxes for police.

No, people are not going to give up smoking pot, we all need a puff to
handle the insanity of these drug wars.
