What it means to me to be a D.A.R.E. student
It means resisting drugs and violence and being confident when you
are faced with a tough decision that you have to make.
I learned a lot through these weeks and I have to admit, I enjoyed it.
D.A.R.E. taught me how to say 'No'. For example (the ones that really
stuck in my head), by 'Using Humour', 'Changing The Subject',
'Walking Away' and just plain saying 'No'.
I also learned that there are a lot of chemicals and poisons in drugs
that I did not know at all. All I knew was that they were really bad
for you.
I like the decision making model.
It means:
Define: Describe the problem, challenge or opportunity.
Assess: What are your choices?
Respond: Make a choice using the facts that you have gathered.
Evaluate: Review your decision, Did you make the right choice.
My conclusion is that D.A.R.E. will help me in the future when
someone offers me drugs. Believe you me, I will never do drugs.
Thank you Const. Leiding for teaching me all about D.A.R.E.
I pledge allegiance to D.A.R.E. and I promise I will do my best to
stay away from drugs, alcohol and violence.
I will be confident, brave and stand up to people who try to get me
to do drugs.
