THERE IS NO DENYING MEDICAL BENEFIT OF MARIJUANA

I see by the news tonight that Mexican authorities have just seized
over 100 TONS of marijuana in Tijuana. Can anyone doubt that marijuana
is big business for the cartels?

No one can deny America's demand for it, illegal though it is. And
what do we do with it? Well, yes, millions of Americans use it
recreationally, but I want to point out that right now there are
thousands of Americans who depend on this black market traffic to
obtain their marijuana for medical reasons.

No one who has studied the medical literature has any doubt that
marijuana has many useful medical properties. Even the US government
has had a patent on it for the last seven years.

So what a shame it is that our friends and neighbors have to deal with
the underground black market, and risk arrest, in order to get the
natural medicine they find very helpful for their various symptoms.

How much better it would be if they could buy their marijuana in a
controlled legal dispensary; and the readers of this newspaper can
help make this happen by voting YES ON PROPOSITION 203 this Nov. 2.

I strongly urge you not to be misled by opponents of the medical
marijuana proposition who do not, and cannot, dispute its medical
value. Their arguments are fearful and irrational. Please, for the
third, and hopefully final time, I ask voters to approve the
initiative to allow medical marijuana here in Arizona. VOTE YES ON
