CRIME SHOULDN'T PAY
It is a rare day that Mr. Ferry and I agree on something, but I agree
with his assessment regarding the regulation of marijuana. The more we
take our "vices" back from criminals, the safer our society will become.
The notion that "weed" is a gateway drug is to ignore alcohol. In my
experience, those who abuse alcohol will abuse drugs whether they are
legal or not.
It is a naive belief that morality can be legislated, be it drugs,
prostitution, abortion, gambling, etc.
Our best recourse is to decriminalize, regulate and recover the tax
dollars that are currently filling the pockets of our local criminals.
