EAST LANSING SEEKS INPUT ON MEDICAL MARIJUANA PLAN
EAST LANSING -- City officials want to hear from residents about
three proposals for implementing the state's Medical Marihuana Act.
Each proposed ordinance allows qualifying patients and caregivers to
grow marijuana for medical use, but the City Council must decide
where and how the marijuana is grown and dispensed.
One proposal would allow qualifying patients and caregivers to grow
and dispense it at a licensed home.
The second proposal would allow the caregiver to deliver the
marijuana to a patient's home.
The third would allow for the creation of "dispensaries," where two
or more caregivers would grow, dispense and deliver marijuana from
the same building.
A public hearing on the issue is set for 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the
Hannah Community Center, 819 Abbot Road.
Residents also can e-mail their comments to council@cityofeast
lansing.com or mail them to East Lansing City Council, 410 Abbot
Road, East Lansing, MI, 48823.
More information can be found at cityofeastlansing.com/mma.
Comments are due to the City Council by Nov. 12.
