METH SUPPLIES FOUND IN PARKED CAR OUTSIDE COLUMBIA DRUGSTORE

Officers in Columbia County shut down a Walgreens store this afternoon
after discovering the components for a methamphetamine lab in car
parked outside the business.

People inside the Walgreens at U.S. 90 and State Road 47 were
evacuated shortly before 2 p.m. after investigators located the
Pontiac Grand Prix with an Alabama license plate, said Columbia County
Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Laurie Windham. A tip led investigators
to the vehicle.

Meth labs are considered highly volatile due to the chemicals involved
in the drug's production. Due to the car's proximity to the store,
officers decided to evacuate the store and shut the building as they
investigate the area.

Three people are in custody, Windham said. A fourth person ran from
officers and is at large, she said.

Windham said she did not know when the store would be reopened.
