PROPOSITION 19 CONFOUNDING
I'm torn about how to vote on Proposition 19.
On the one hand, pot use is so widespread and the law against it so
poorly enforced that maybe prohibition against should be given up.
On the other hand, the law does at least continue to stigmatize the
use of a harmful enough drug. That alone might be important.
If the law is passed and marijuana becomes more widely available and
used, will it lead to more social problems? Will more children be
exposed to it? Will it cause more problems in the family? The
workplace? The classroom?
Passing Proposition 19 may be a dangerous experiment. I'm confused,
even without any THC in my head.
