IT'S ALL ABOUT FREEDOM OF CHOICE
Regarding the Sept. 8 letter, "Dude, where's your point?": Although
the writer's clever rebuttal made absolutely no sense to me (or to
anyone else I showed it to), and although he actually forgot what he
wanted to say (duh, dude, he might have wanted to edit that part out)
I feel compelled to respond.
When I say that cannabis is a healthy substitute for unhealthy and
addictive narcotics, it is not me being "stunningly contradictive."
What is contradictive is the writer's claim that the whole medi-pot
movement is a lie. It is contradictive to scientific fact. Who are we
supposed to believe, him, or the thousands of doctors who are now
recommending its amazing potential as a preventive, a curative and
yes, a pain-masking remedy.
I still stand by my point that in comparison to alcohol, pot is less
disruptive and less deadly. Since everyone knows that cannabis has
never directly killed anyone, everyone else could see the obvious sarcasm.
I may or may not have been on pot when I wrote my last letter, but at
least I was on this planet, and I resent the writer's inference that
I am some kind of smoked-out moron. I am simply a medi-pot advocate
defending basic freedom of choice when it comes to what medicine we
are allowed to put into your own body.
