DRUG USERS, CARTEL KILLINGS
The front page article in The Ledger on Aug. 26 "Drug Cartel Suspected
in Mexico Massacre of 72" was sad for me to read. Innocent people are
dying by the thousands in Mexico because of the drug cartels, and we
must ask why.
The answer is because of the demand for drugs in this country. If
those who use illegal drugs in this country realized they are
complicit, i.e., conspirators in the deaths of innocent people, would
they change their habits?
The states that are pursuing the legalization of drugs should stop and
think about the innocent people who are dying every day by these
murderers in order to get their "product" across our borders.
In addition to the drug smuggling, the cartels are now in the business
of helping terrorists get across our borders. Yes, our borders need to
be sealed to prevent not just illegal people from crossing the border
but the flow of drugs.
So, if you are a person who uses illegal drugs, I hope you realize
your habit has caused many innocent people to die and you just may
have helped a terrorist cross the border into our country.
Their blood is on your hands.
