RANCHO POT TAX APPLAUDED
Re "Rancho voters weigh pot tax" (Our Region, Aug. 29): I applaud
Rancho Cordova for taking steps to limit marijuana growing on
residential properties. I have never observed a pot house that has
been a positive influence on a neighborhood.
I speculate that much of the "medical marijuana" distribution goes to
recreational users. If for medical use, why isn't a marijuana
prescription required to be filled by a licensed pharmacist who is
responsible for the authenticity of the prescription?
I urge voters to vote no on Proposition 19 and to support any local
ordinances that limit marijuana growing in our residential
neighborhoods. The operations simply do not attract the crowd that
make for good neighborhoods for raising families.
