RE "Smoking marijuana far from harmless," (Aug. 8): Thanks for the
Sunday Sun comment on legalizing pot.

However, you have missed the point - that California and other states
are about to go bankrupt if they do not find new sources of tax revenue.

Any taxpayer can abuse a drug. Drinking alcohol is bad, smoking is
bad, smoking pot is bad; but pot is an underground economy full of
money and should pay its share of taxes.
