OPEN BORDERS SPUR POT PLANTATIONS
Congressman Wally Herger's bill relative to marijuana plantations on
federal land and his recent discovery that the problem is growing ever
larger causes me to believe that election time is near. His resolution
to have the federal government develop a comprehensive and coordinated
strategy to fight drugs is beyond belief. Is that not what the drug
czar was to do when appointed by President Reagan? Does not Congress
have oversight of the drug czar's operation?
There were joint federal and local raids of the pot plantations in the
1970s, and I have been writing the congressman about this and related
issues for six years. Why is the problem worse today than during the
'70s? The answer is simple: America has opened the borders to one and
all, and the flow of illegals includes gang members who are working
and guarding with weapons the pot plantations.
But maybe another Washington, D.C., meeting will solve the problem;
just as soon as the flock of pigs flying overhead get out of the way.
