BURNT CANNABIS ANNOYING RESIDENTS
The smell of seized cannabis being burnt at the police station is
getting up the noses of residents of the Southland town of Gore.
Businesses closest to the police station say it is not a good look for
visitors who use the public toilets just over the back fence, the
Southland Times reported today.
Shop assistant Diane Williams described it as absolutely disgusting
some days.
"It's awful, I hate the smell."
Sergeant Ian Temple told the newspaper he could appreciate there would
be "quite a stink" when cannabis was being disposed of.
The problem might be just a timing issue and solved by restricting the
burning of cannabis to nights or the weekend, he said.
