HERO OF LEGALIZATION
The authors of the July 16 column "Legalizing marijuana remains a bad
idea" wrongly attack Tim Beck for trying to legalize marijuana. I and
tens of thousands of other Michiganians believe that Tim Beck is a
hero for his work getting the decriminalization of marijuana on the
ballot in Detroit. Beck also deserves a lot of the credit for the
passage of Proposal 1 to protect patients from the barbaric laws that
were used to attack people using marijuana for medical purposes.
