SYSTEM PROFITS
A larger issue involving marijuana is its function as a gateway drug,
and I do not mean that using it leads to a desire for harder drugs.
It becomes a gateway between the user and the dealer, often someone
who does not just traffic in marijuana, but other drugs, as well.
If medicinal marijuana were to be legalized, it would have to be
readily accessible to bypass the pushers.
For as many people who would like to see it legalized under limited
circumstances, there are a whole lot of people who would not, and
they include not only dealers, but those who make their money from
the criminal justice system.
