CRIMINAL PROFILING HELPS STOP DRUGS
The sons and daughters, husbands and wives of Shasta County residents
in law enforcement are risking their lives daily to control the
illegal drug traffic and drug cartel money flowing on Interstate 5,
and Shasta County Senior Deputy Public Defender Mike Horan is
concerned about employees of the Mexican drug cartels being profiled.
Of course criminals have profiles. Horan's time and the taxpayers'
money would be better spent if he spent time pulling marijuana plants
in illegal grows in our national forests. How many residents know a
portion of the hundreds of thousands of dollars confiscated daily goes
to fund local law enforcement? Supervisors, take note: Maybe we should
increase the patrols on I-5.
