NO PROOF OF LINK TO GROW-OPS

Editor: Auto theft is linked to marijuana grow-ops, says RCMP Supt.
Janice Armstrong (The Times, May 7).

That is quite a stretch, without any corroborating figures that the
good officer neglected to include in her hysterical accusation.

I suppose, given all the activity in the marijuana grow-op industry,
that a grower may have felt it necessary to steal a vehicle to hurry
over and turn the lights off at the twelfth hour.

To say that grow-ops are fuelling auto thefts without any
explanation, as Supt. Armstrong has stated, is not essentially true
and is meant to mislead the reader.
