BUILD A FENCE - AND IT WILL BE SCALED

Bill Hart's "My Turn" column on Tuesday closed with the question,
"What part of 'impossible' don't you understand?" ("Fence fixation
doesn't solve problem").

How true! If 10-year-old kids were able to climb farmers' fences to
steal watermelons, what kind of lamebrain thinks fences could possibly
keep out hungry adults looking for something better?

The same type of brain that brought on the ill-begotten prohibition of
alcohol and the same ill-begotten "war on drugs"!

Our politicians and do-gooder screamers have done their best, and
succeeded, to create all sorts of criminal behavior including
smuggling and murders and crime syndicates, creating a mind-boggling
debt for our children and theirs to pay.
