LEGALIZE POT AND WIPE OUT GANGSTER ELEMENT
Re: Group protests deportation, anti-crime pot law
MP Cathy McLeod states in the above article that, "We're trying to cut
off the lifeline of organized crime and our party has no intention of
legalizing marijuana."
The reality is Bill-S10 is trying to give the appearance of cutting
off organized crime. In fact, what it will do is empower organized
crime. With no regulations on quality, age restrictions, and price
controls, the profits are immense.
Further, it gives gangsters an opportunity to introduce young people
experimenting with cannabis to even more profitable addictive drugs
such as cocaine, heroine and crystal meth.
With recreational cannabis use increasing every year, this does not
seem like wise policy, particularly when one considers the dismal
failure of similar policies in other countries around the globe. If we
want to give our young people a chance, we must legalize and regulate
cannabis.
