ANTI-TANK ROCKET LAUNCHER SEIZED IN POLICE RAID OF POT-GROWING OPERATION
A Canadian anti-tank rocket launcher, seven rifles, two shotguns, 11
handguns and 30,000 to 40,000 rounds of ammunition were among the
items seized in a raid on a Kamloops marijuana-growing operation this
week.
A senior RCMP officer described the arsenal found during Wednesday's
raid on a rural home on the outskirts of the city as one of the
largest ever seized in Kamloops.
More than eight kilograms of marijuana, smaller amounts of cocaine,
heroin and methamphetamine, plus sophisticated growing equipment were
also found, police said.
Other seized evidence included more than $200,000 worth of stolen
goods, including a backhoe, a 2005 Corvette, a Dodge Durango and a
dune buggy.
A 38-year-old man with no police record has been arrested in
connection with the case, a police news release said.
"Proposed charges may include production of a controlled substance,
trafficking of a controlled substance, unsafe storage of firearms and
possession of prohibited weapons."
The seizure came two days after police raided another Kamloops home
and found a loaded shotgun, a small quantity of marijuana, a crossbow
and a samurai sword.
