WHAT ABOUT THE DUIS?

Re "Legalizing pot would only be beginning of problems" (Comment,
April 21):

I wonder if proponents of legalization have considered the
ramifications for law enforcement enforcing the driving under the
influence laws. It's a misdemeanor to drive in this condition. So
supporters say let's go ahead and release another intoxicant upon
society anyway. This will surely result in more widespread use.
Prepare yourself for more arrests and let's hope there are no
increases in injuries and deaths on the road due to consumption of
cannabis, because currently alcohol is responsible for 50 percent of
such road carnage.
