DRUG WAR
Problem Will Go Away If Congress Leaves It Alone
Congress continues to fund and support the War-On-Drugs, then tries to
figure out how to end the warfare that results. I guess they cannot
see the irony. It's like pouring poison in the river then looking for
an antidote for the dying fish. If the war on drugs were ended the
narcos would have nothing to fight about.
The war on drugs has been going on for over a hundred years under one
name or another, drugs won, but Congress refuses to recognize reality
and change the strategy. Drug use is a medical issue. The ineffective
laws make it a criminal issue.
