MEDICAL MARIJUANA ALREADY AVAILABLE

Before anyone gets too enthusiastic about the proposed
medical-marijuana initiative, they should know that medical marijuana
has been available by prescription for many years.

A drug, Marinol, has the same medical effects associated with inhaled
marijuana. The passage of an initiative is unnecessary. It will only
lead the way to widespread abuse, and become a gateway drug to
further abuse of more serious drugs.

To pass this initiative would be a huge mistake.
