MARIJUANA IS OUT OF CONTROL
I am very concerned about the marijuana issue.
Our grandchildren recently took a 10-week DARE program on drugs and
alcohol. We teach our children to "just say no" to drugs and alcohol.
Smoking is banned almost everywhere because of secondhand smoke. Do we
tell our children it is not alright to smoke cigarettes, but it is
alright to smoke marijuana? It makes no sense to me.
Now that our state is in need of money -- for not budgeting properly
- -- they are going to put marijuana on the ballot in order to legalize
it. Have we sunk so low that we are willing to undermine our families
for a few dollars?
As for the medical marijuana issue, that is a joke. Anyone can get a
prescription or grow it without any problem. If they are serious about
having medical marijuana, why isn't it regulated and dispensed by the
state? They can still get the tax from it, but at least they would
have some control over it.
