HOW TO EVALUATE POT ABUSE?

Re " Why fire people for medical pot use?" (Opinion, April 10):
Columnist Bruce Maiman, as usual, articulates a well-reasoned article
as to why people should not be fired simply for having been proved to
have used medicinal pot, concluding by stating, "Let's address the
abuse and not the use of a drug any drug."

But Maiman failed badly by not offering just how that would be
accomplished. Would a medicinal user of pot be subject to evaluation
by the "pot police" or some other subjective manner of determining
when s/he is "impaired on the job?" Currenty, testing positive is the
guideline; if that is removed, what do you suggest be the determining
factor? How many bags of potato chips are in their lunch box?
