MEDICAL MARIJUANA IS NOT A SAFETY HAZARD
Re "Medicinal grow op not acceptable in Port Hope," Northumberland
Today, March 31:
I cannot believe how uninformed the council is.
This is not a grow-op. It is a medicinal garden. Fifty plants is not much.
My licence is for 69 plants. I also know of licences of 100 to 200
plants/person.
If the council doesn't like it I hope they are prepared to pay, as it
would be a easy victory in a Human Rights Tribunal.
The federal government licenses sick people to help their SUFFERING
from medical conditions. A town council can't say squat about it.
It is the SICK person's right to have this medicine once they have a
licence from Health Canada. They can name a designated grower of
their choice. Once they (growers) are approved no-one -- not even the
RCMP -- can stop it, as long as they abide by the regulations in the
program, have the proper number of plants and safety of the garden.
The police unions and RCMP want everyone to believe that it's a
safety hazard; a public health risk, blah, blah, blah. This is all
propaganda, providing those in power with a reason to keep a harmless
plant illegal.
Zero deaths from use in all recorded history. Alcohol killed more
people than that yesterday alone.
I hope these "Councillors" educate themselves.
