MAYOR STUCK IN THE '60S
On the Jan. I watched (the documentary) CannaBiz as probably many people
in Canada did. Many more people will watch this program in the future as I
imagine CBC will continue to air it, again and again, year after year.
Congratulations Mayor (Brian) Taylor, Grand Forks now has a new identity -
not as a progressive community looking toward a future of growth and
prosperity, but as a community full of backward hillbillies stuck in the
'60s with no imagination or creativity.
By the way, British Columbia no longer has the best marijuana in the
world, hydroponics is everywhere. British Columbians claiming that they
have the best marijuana are like Edmontonians still claiming that they
live in the "City of Champions." Another thing, the medical marijuana
thing has been done. There are lots of establishments producing it
already. It's nothing new or cutting edge.
I wish this CBC production would go away, but it is part of our community
now and forever. It would have been nice to advertise Grand Forks as a
vibrant, healthy community with little crime, a community to raise a
family in, a safe community to grow old in; but no, we have now been
labelled as a community of a bunch of hillbillies with nothing more
enterprising to do than grow dope.
Mayor Taylor, I'm sure you make enough off your grow; perhaps it's time to
leave politics.

Grand Forks
