DEA'S RAID ON COLORADO MARIJUANA GROWER WASTEFUL
Re: "Major metro grower jailed," Feb. 13 news story.
DEA raids on medical marijuana farms have the same effect on supply as ICE
raids have on illegal immigration. That would be zero, and it makes
necessary enforcement agencies look like they're showboating.
If DEA special agent Jeff Sweetin wants to go after legal businesses
dispensing drugs, perhaps he could go after those that are flooding
the communities of Highlands Ranch and Littleton with Oxycontin,
because they're swimming in it and the kids are passing it out in
social situations like it's candy. Some become addicted, and when the
expense of that addiction becomes too great, some are turning to
heroin at one-fourth the price. If your child is socially active and
hangs out with a variety of groups, then they have been exposed to
Oxycontin.
We have a real problem down here, Jeff, with a drug that is actually
harmful. It would be real nice if you would forget the potheads and
address the situation with the opiates instead.
