TIME TO END WAR ON DRUGS

I was pleased to read Councilman Goodenough's letter (Where were new
ideas? 3/4/2010) in which he referenced the late Ambassador Stroock's
opposition to the war on drugs.

This so-called war has helped lead us from being the land of the free
to being the land of the incarcerated. Indeed, according to the School
of Law at King's College in London, with over 23% of the world's
inmates we now cage more of our fellow citizens than any country on
Earth.

It's time to declare victory, end this sham, and return to our roots
as a nation with liberty for all.
