A TROUBLING ARREST
Editor:
I was dismayed to read about the arrest of Ms. Ragsdale ("Woman with
marijuana prescription arrested for drug possession," March 19. No
one should be subject to prosecution for following their doctor's
medical recommendations.
We Wyomingites are rightly proud to live in the Equality State, a
moniker our forebears earned by being the first to give women the
right to vote, serve on juries and hold public office.
Unfortunately, we are far from the first to allow our sick and
suffering fellow citizens access to marijuana, a potent and
inexpensive medicine legally recommended by doctors in 14 other
states. In the interest of medical equality, compassion and to help
combat the rising cost of health care, we must move forward on this
issue. If you'd like to help make medical marijuana an alternative
here in Wyoming, please send an e-mail to ReformWyoming@gmail.com
