LET POT GROWERS BE

Here's a little trivia for your readers as we head into 2010. What are
the many thousands of pot growers in California feeling bummed about
right now? The price of their weed is dropping fast, that's what. That
is, unless they can get their weed out to Hawaii.

You see, we still have a delusional police force that believes busting
growers is somehow accomplishing something positive.

Who are these rogue judges and police officers who are defying the
expressed will of the people of Hawaii County?

I wonder if any of them have ever stopped to consider what the actual
effects of their actions are? The proud looks on their faces tell me
that they must not have.

What type of satisfaction do you get from knowing that your actions
increase and maintain the ridiculous value of marijuana? Is there even
one less person (besides the one you bust) out there smoking a joint?

There probably is, but that young person is doing something else, like
drinking cheap beer or huffing gas or some other unnatural thing like
"ice." Is this what you call a victory?

Insanity is repeatedly doing the same thing while expecting different
results. Are any of you public officials intelligent or coherent
enough to acknowledge that the "drug war" policies you are enforcing
are insane?

Shame on you all then, for your willful and belligerent displays of
ignorance, especially since the people you've sworn to serve and
protect have expressly told you to STOP.
