CORPORATE NEGLIGENCE

I am writing in response to the Jan. 6 article "Panel rejects pot
resolution" where I feel I was quoted a bit out of context. I did not
simply state that our nation's real killers were "food additives" as
was published. What I actually said was that none of those who
testified against Resolution 281-09, reading off what I feel were
mostly pseudo-scientific statistics, were going to read statistics
pertaining to our nation's largest killers: heart disease, diabetes
and cancer.

All of these conditions have a proven link to the consumption of, or
exposure to, perfectly legal FDA- and EPA-approved substances. This
does include food additives, pharmaceutical "drugs" and industrial
toxins.

My overall point is that the government and its indoctrinated
affiliates' persecution of the cannabis hemp plant is completely
hypocritical in light of the neglect shown to the causes of conditions
that kill and harm hundreds of thousands of Americans every year.
There is no doubt in my mind that the negligence is at least in part
due to the interests of corporate profits.

I hope this will help to clarify my position and statements given to
the County Council on Jan. 5.
