OFFICERS NEED TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE
In self-defense, justifiable? That is what the grand jury of Stephens
County said in regards to the Jonathon Ayers shooting. What a joke!
Did either of these officers ever consider stepping out of the way of
a moving car? What happened to common sense here? I believe it flew
right out of that SUV as soon as those doors were open and the
officers came out with their guns drawn.
I live here in Stephens County. Am I suppose to feel safe knowing that
there are at least two trigger happy officers out there?
What if I were to give a ride to someone walking on the side of the
road just because they needed it, would I be shot as well? Does anyone
see the stupidity of what happened here?
A man was shot trying to get away from men he thought were going to
rob him. Think about it if you were in his shoes, wouldn't you? These
officers shot him at a gas station that sits at a busy intersection.
Who else could have been killed?
This is something that never should have happened and I know that I
will never look at law enforcement officers the same again.
There has to be some way to get these officers off of the street! They
need to be held accountable for what they have done.
I hope that there is enough public outrage over this that the "system"
we trust to protect us . . . will!
