VIEW FROM THE 'RIGHT' LACKS INSIGHT ON PILLARS' OBJECTIVE
EDITOR, THE TIMES:
Re: Patrick Giesbrecht's From The Right column in last Friday's Times:
For someone so misled to comment on four pillars is a shame. He does
not understand harm reduction, and with the likes of Randy White,
should keep his wild views on the drug issue to himself.
I recall Jeffrey Hansen-Carlson's column a few weeks ago and it was
his progressive view on the drug scene that made the most sense.
Three-pillar proponents are ignorant. I am encouraged by Mr
Hansen-Carlson's intellect and courage to tackle challenging issues
in our community. He does not talk the talk.
Hansen-Carlson's views might cost him his political ambitions, but
that just tells me he is passionate and true. Patrick, on the other
hand, will just be another one of those out-to-lunch, right-minded
folks who are part of the problem.
I am excited to read the debate between the From The Left and From
The Right columnists and applaud the Abbotsford-Mission Times for
pairing these two community-minded gentlemen.
Frankly though, this town needs more Jeffrey ideas and less Patrick ideas.
