MEDICAL MARIJUANA: GIVE US THE OPTION

Medical marijuana should be legalized. This plant that has many uses
but has been demonized by our government for decades. Marijuana grows
the same way trees and flowers do, a seed in the Earth with sunlight
and water. No pesky manufacturer combining who knows what ingredients
and charging outrageous prices for their miracle drug.

There are many sick people who attest to the efficacy of marijuana,
yet are made to buy man-made drugs ridden with side effects.

Surely state Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen has more pressing
matters today than prosecuting sick people for marijuana use. The
stress that is caused by the overwhelming cost of manufactured drugs
prohibits folks from actually feeling better, even if the drug works.
If need be, people could grow their own medicine and be rid of the
financial stress altogether.

To deny sick people a low-cost alternative is thoughtless. No one
would be forced to use marijuana if it were legal.

Folks should have the option to use a plant to ease their suffering.
