THINK TWICE BEFORE SENDING VUKMIR TO STATE SENATE
Dear Editor: I attended the hearing in Madison Dec. 15 for the Jacki
Rickert Medical Marijuana Act. Those who particularly should pay
attention to this hearing are in the 5th state Senate District, for you
are possibly going to be represented by Republican Leah Vukmir, who now
represents the 14th Assembly District. Those not living under a rock
probably heard of her disrespectful and ignorant behavior at the hearing.
It's a well-known fact that an overwhelming majority of Wisconsinites
approve of the medical marijuana measure.
What good is it having someone represent you who does not consider the
testimony given, and make a decision based on what a majority of her
district would approve? I would do whatever I could to make sure she
did not represent my district.
One would think that someone who took the responsibilities associated
with becoming a nurse would listen to what real patients where telling
her. Even the Wisconsin Nurses Association, an organization of her own
peers, approved of this bill.
I urge those in the 5th Senate District to consider if you really want
this person going to Madison for you. Watch the hearing on Wisconsin
Eye News and think long and hard about what you hear.
