LOCAL DRUG WAR STORIES FABRICATED
I wasn't surprised to see the outdated drug dog story as the
headlines for the Thanksgiving week edition.
It looks to me as if you are doing the smoke and mirror routine for
this fabricated major drug problem in Stephens County as if it were
justification for them to shoot and kill Jonathan Ayers.
Well it isn't. I know if you print it enough these people will believe
it. Not me. I know it is 99.9 percent hype, rhetoric and lies.
The D.A. says that 54 percent of the jail population is in for drug
charges. Show me the problem, I don't believe it because someone says
so.
I would ask the D.A. to publish the name - race - charges and quantity
of drugs that were confiscated.
It is public record. Let us see how big the problem is. I will be
willing to bet you and I'll give you 10 to 1 that most of the charges
are for possession of small amounts of marijuana.
Also, the reason Stephens County has more drug arrests than the other
two counties in the M.J.C. is we have a black population and they don't.
And it is set up perfectly with the sleezy motels on Currahee Street
around our black community. It makes a perfect place for them to come
to Stephens County get in a few hours of "target practice," clock out
and go back home.
And you, you keep calling for this war. Are you not wise enough to
realize your war is against American citizens as evidenced by the
death of Jonathan Ayers?
I suppose Jonathan was just another casualty of your war. Drugs don't
get hurt, people do. Change the law, stop your war, stop the madness,
stop shooting people.
Also, I read your article about the Thanksgiving memories of the
fireman and police, gag me with a spoon. How lame can you get. I will
end my letter with a question, How shall they hear without a preacher?
