MARIJUANA GROW OP FOUND AGAIN IN EDGEMONT HOME

Calgary police say they found a marijuana grow operation in an
Edgemont house. Again.

Officers were called to the 100 block of Edgebrook Park N.W. after a
complaint there was suspicious activity going on late Monday afternoon.

When police got there, they found an unsecured window but could not
get in touch with the residents.

"Concerned for the welfare of any possible occupants in the home,
given the complaint, they entered the home to clear the residence,"
said Acting Staff Sgt. Asif Rashid. "When inside, they located a
multistage, sophisticated, marijuana grow operation located throughout
the residence."

After leaving and getting a search warrant, police say they found
1,207 plants worth approximately $1.5 million.

The house was known to police because another grow operation was found
there recently, said Rashid.

There were no charges in the first grow operation. Police are looking
into whether the same people set up shop there again.

"The possibility also exists that it may have been a different tenant
or a different occupant of the residence involved," said Rashid.

There have been no arrests in the most recent discovery, said Rashid.
