DRUG THUGS SHOULD EXPECT 'TOUGH LOVE'

Re: Gord Kurenoff's column in Tuesday's Times entitled Can't second guess cops:

Our police people do sometimes need to be a bit rough with people who
are determined they will not be taken down. When this is the case,
rough stuff will happen.

Many of these people tend to be violent and wish to let their alleged
friends know how tough they are by seriously resisting. And many of
these same people are career criminals, too.

It is time, in fact, it is far past time when our communities should
be showing a whole lot more supportive ness and appreciation for the
often-thankless job the law enforcement people have.
