WACKY WEED ADDS TO WOES
To the Editor:
I am sure we Daily Record readers all felt "enlightened" by Kirk Muse
of Mesa, Ariz., and his recent letter that compared the legalization
of marijuana to the liberation of slaves in this country, as well as
to the defeat of Nazi Germany.
Just what we need, Mr. Muse --more potheads. As if clear-headed
employees aren't hard enough to find already. As if we don't have
enough dysfunctional families in this country already. As if the
mental institutions aren't already filled to capacity with
drug-induced dementia. The implications of this position against our
already besieged society and its people are enormous. And -- quite
obviously -- there is no comparison between such self-indulgent
personal preference and the past liberation of oppressed peoples.
Come out of your pot-induced fog, Mr. Muse. By taking this opportunity
to wake up now, you and others of similar persuasion can yet become
contributors to our nation's heritage of true liberation -- rather
than being simply self-proclaimed nonconformists who undermine it.
