Re: "It's high time," Letter, Oct. 9.

The marijuana debate continues to ricochet around, after all these
years. Therapeutic uses are minimal; it is just one of a plethora of
mood-altering substances available. While no worse than alcohol, it is
certainly no better. Who among us does not have someone in their
sphere who has not become Zombie Elvis, wallowing around in their fog,
up all night, sleeping all day, unable to function properly, let alone
work, etc., thanks to their precious "weed"? Talk about diminished
expectations. You have to trust me on this. I am a pharmacist 44 years
into the noble profession.
