PUB LTE: STEPHENS DRUG WAR NOT FABRICATED

I would like to correct Mr. Frank Whittle's statements on the drug
war in Stephens County.

It is not fabricated. If only he had spoken to the families who are
affected by loved ones....sons, daughters, brothers, sisters...even
fathers and mothers.

This coalition is not in it for the money. All the people are
volunteers; the people who work everyday are not paid. They work
everyday to help put the programs together. Every penny given is put
in to fund the programs and pay for the materials used to work.

All the people I know are very upset over the death of Rev. Jonathan
Ayers. I am so glad the young lady and her fiance both told the press
he was ministering to her as he had when he was a youth pastor in
Cornelia-Mt. Airy area.

He was a young man doing God's work. God told us all to go into the
highways and byways to reach the lost. Rev. Ayers told her in his last
opportunity to minister to the lost couple, who needed to get off
drugs, turn their lives around to a new way of life...give their hearts
to Christ.

As for Mr. Whittle's statement, that Jesus never was angry or had
anyone arrested; he must read his Bible where Jesus took a whip and
cleared the temple of the money changers...removed them from his
father's house.

We need to be about the Father's business and work with the coalition.
Their greatest need is funding. Our elected officials haven't
contributed a dime, neither the City Council nor our County
Commissioners.

The coalition needs the support of the entire county of the churches,
police department, and sheriff's office.
