STEPHEN HARPER'S DRUG STANCE IS REMINISCENT OF RICHARD NIXON'S
What's really chilling is comparing Richard Nixon's paranoid rants
with Stephen Harper's comments about his son, Ben, the Beatles'
lyrics, and a "culture" of drug use ["Obsolete war on drugs is
rooted in paranoia", September 10-17].
Harper is as much of a mean-spirited nut job as Nixon was, and I am
sure that the 3,000 Health Canada medical-marijuana licence holders
are at the very top of Harper's "enemies list". To him, we represent
the human-rights "foot in the door" for legalization, so it is no
wonder he is desperate to undermine and eventually eliminate us --
ostensibly to protect his son from knowledge, pleasure, and critical thinking.
If Harper ever gets a majority, there will be 3,000 sick and dying
Canadians rounded up into jails within the first week -- you can
count on that.
